“What matters to me?” is such an excellent question for separating the urgent/important/top to-do from the deep places of meaning in our lives. Like separating an egg.

When I was younger, someone said to me that the most important thing for them was to bring value to every situation they were in--whether work, or hosting dinner parties. I didn't fully understand it at the time, but now that I'm in my 60s, I do. What's important to me is being a positive influence in all my relationships--professional and personal.

This reminds of this week when I was reflecting on a similar question and the answer was a full day on the couch, watching TV and eating snacks. That is so out of the ordinary for me, but looking at the busy time travelling to different cities and doing things, I agreed with my body that we needed a day of rest. So that’s what we did! I even spoiled myself and got pizza for dinner

Great question. I think this will really help ground me in the present moment and even attend to some of my more basic but often overlooked needs like a sandwich or to scratch my nose or even just to take a breath. Thank you!! 😁

Let's keep in mind that just because you believe it is urgent doesn't mean that it is important. We still must filter out those things and make sure we focus on Important and not urgent. These are the long bubbling ideas that make the difference.
