These are all great. #6 hit me the hardest. No one can beat me up the way I can. Am going to really work on this one.

I can relate. A rule I had to set myself was not to negotiate with unhelpful feelings. It's basically wrestling with a pig if you know what I mean.

As I wander around between my work a mental health clinician, my clients and coworkers, my home filled with my daughter and her family , my recovery journey and my own personal projects - I hear things calling me - waiting for me to do, make, learn and discover & I don’t know where to start sorting it out …. These questions are a good start…. Writing is calling me ☮️🌏🙏🏽

This is really helpful, but I think there’s a missing category: people who are not confused anymore, just stuck in the same life. They understand everything, but nothing around them changes, and that’s where insight stops being enough.

You articulated this so well!. I 100% agree and after some research this is where I landed:

Puer aeternus is a Jungian archetype describing an adult whose emotional life remains at an adolescent level, often termed "Peter Pan syndrome". Characterized by a fear of entrapment, commitment, and responsibility, the puer leads a "provisional life" while dreaming of future, idealized achievements."

It was both horrifying and a revelation.

What a fine way into self-honesty! Thank you, Chris. Stuckness comes from our inner mind, shaped by evolution for our protection, but often the author of solutions that keep us running in place. When that inner mind is causing trouble, we have too much of a tendency to turn against it. it's really a valiant younger version of us, struggling to keep us safe. It's waiting for us to make friends and get to know each other, and then to tackle change. Jeffery Smith MD. https://howtherapyworks.substack.com/p/video-6-making-friends-with-the-inner?r=4hggtp
